Well, this web-address is officially outdated. (I'd change it if it wouldn't break all of my links and images). I just signed up to run the Chicago Marathon on October 11th! Registration opened yesterday and is expected to fill up in a matter of days. So, if you have been considering it, now is the time to decide.
I am going to join the CARA training program that begins on June 9th to help prepare.
Man, races sure are not cheap. I recently became a CARA member for $40. This will afford me some very helpful discounts as I embark on this year of running. The marathon itself cost $125 and there is no CARA discount. The training program will cost $155 ($185 for non-CARA members).
In addition, I am hoping to run the following races this year:
CARA Lakefront 10 Mile on April 25th ($33, $50 for non-CARA members)
Fleet Feet 10 Mile on May 23rd ($50, no discount)
Chicago 13.1 Half Marathon on June 7th ($55, unknown discount for CARA)
CARA Ready to Run 20 Mile on September 20 ($5, $55 for non-CARA, non-CARA training members)
If I pursue all of this, my total costs will be $463. Wow! I will have saved $100 by being a CARA member.
